Warcraft Cataclysm – New Abilities For The Warrior
A dedicated World of Warcraft player who journeyed as the Warrior could not have been pleased when the executives at Blizzard came to the decision of nerfing some of the warrior\’s abilities. For those of you who don\’t know, \”nerf\” is the term used when Blizzard decides to eliminate a special set of skills or abilities that are believed to be too strong and gives these players an unfair edge over players of other classes. This was exactly the action that Blizzard took when Warriors were owning every other class in PvP battles in the Wrath of the Lich King. As you may have guessed, this did not sit well with just about every player of the Warrior class.
Players of the Warrior class no longer need to fret as much of these skills that were removed have now been rightfully returned for the latest Warcraft installment Cataclysm. To make matters even better, Warriors now have a new set of abilities that can be learned via talent tree.
Arms will continue to dominate as the best spec for the Warrior. This enables the Warrior to use maneuvers like Mortal Strike, which according to consensus, is pound for pound the most powerful wound strike across every class. Extra damage can be implemented with the addition of gushing wound, which stacks when the affected victim moves.
The Warriors will have some pretty awesome new skills for the Cataclysm expansion. One of these is the Colossus Smash which penetrates enemy armor for a duration of six seconds. This ability alone makes the warrior a serious threat to any class at close range. There is also a new Heroic Leap ability which allows the Warrior to jump into the fray from long range distance. This ability comes equipped with a cool down of its own.
Warriors are such a desirable class to play for their ability to deal maximum damage with every hit they deal. Blizzard have modified the warrior\’s talent tree so the Arms warrior is the only spec to build for PvP. There are new talents such as the Lambs to the Slaughter which takes effect after the use of Mortal Strike and deals additional damage depending on the amount of points you got for the talent.
If you play as the Warrior, pray that Blizzard will not butt in and nerf these new abilites as they did in Lich King. Assuming that Blizzard does nothing and let these abilities remain with the Warrior in Cataclysm, they will dominate in PvP combat and remain at the top of the chain for damage, which is what they have always been noted for.
